Plants are important- crucial really, in our lives and in our observances and ceremonies. “The Botany of Christmas” will take a look at the plants, including  some  that have been used for millenia in Christmas and other seasonal midwinter celebrations. We will describe the interesting traditions that have arisen around these treasured plants- Do you know what Myrrh and Frankencense are? Have you ever attended “The Night of the Radishes” on December 23? What is “orient tar?” These “burning” questions and others will be answered during this light-hearted program.
